Amen
Let us meditate on the above.
The above will be divided in 3 Parts
Verse 21 It is said that in The Old Times, that Thou shall Not Kill and who so ever does that will be in danger of judgement.
What I believe and what Jesus always says is that he didn't come to change what the prophets have said but to fulfil what they have said. What Jesus says next is like an upgrade, a new warning out of the same old texts that we read.
Jesus knew that wickedness lies in the heart. Suppose if we follow the law of not killing but in our heart we have killed the person many a times. We may have cursed, we may have accidentally prayed for them to be unsuccessful, and been joyful in their trials and made fun of them.
Jesus wants us to be clean from heart and not just follow the laws blindly.
Hence the below three parts. Jesus makes the law more precise a bit more difficult for us to achieve. Something I too struggle with
Verse 22: But I say unto you, that who so ever is angry with his brother without a cause will be in danger of Judgement
Here Jesus clearly states that we shouldn't be angry with our brother and sisters, fellow beings without a cause. For if we are so we will be in danger of Judgement of the Lord for our behaviour. I feel at this time we will have a chance to say our part, what we felt at this time. This gives us a picture of how the Judgement day will be.
And who so ever calls his brother Raca ( Lowly, names) will be in danger of the council
Danger of the council? What does this imply? does it give us a picture of a court? a council? many people around eager to know why we did we commit such a mistake?
Calling names and treating someone low is murder by heart. You can kill a person by your words.
When a loving husband sees his wife in love with someone else, having an affair, and when she says she loves the other man, the husband wishes he'd died before he heard that.
Sometimes we all wish we died before we hear some words which cut through our heart.
The council will judge us so as to why we used such words? why was our behaviour such?
We have no right to treat anyone low. This is scary. When you cry cry and try to explain but then there is whole bunch of members of this particular congregation not willing to listen, you will be punished
Lastly..But who so ever shall call his brother a fool (worthless) will be in danger of hell Fire
When we take pride, one of the Seven deadly sins against our own people, make them feel worthless. God is super angry on us. It reminds me of a verse ( will let know later) where it is mentioned we shouldn't swear by anything because we are not capable of growing a hair or giving life in a plant how can we swear by anything?
In the same way we are no one to judge anyone as a worthless person. Good for nothing. We don't face the judgement or the judgement of the council here we stand on the judgement of the Hell Fire.
We may have to answer by who's authority do we tell the worth of a person. We ourselves are capable of nothing at all until God plans things for us.
We need to avoid the killing of a person from heart. To forgive and move on. We have no reason to quarrel with people. We have to make sure that if we are angry against our kin it is for a valid reason and pray that God Guides you through this time and helps you and gives you a better understanding so that you may be saved form the judgement , judgement of the council and worse the Never ending Fire of Hell.
